A spectacular star-studded celebration of Manchester's food and drink scene is set to draw MFDF 2009 to a stylish close. The cream of the city's culinary crop will descend on the Palace Hotel on Monday, October 12 for MFDF's glamorous Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony hosted by celebrity chef duo The Hairy Bikers.

The hottest date on the MFDF calendar, this glittering event is the only place where you'll be first to find out which of the city's bars, restaurants, retailers and chefs have been crowned MFDF 2009 Award winners, as well as have the chance to join in celebrating their success.

On arrival at the plush Palace Hotel, guests will enjoy a champagne and canape reception before sitting down to a lavish banquet of seasonal fayre, specially created by the executive chef. Alongside the expertly executed courses will be a selection of carefully matched wines designed to bring the meal together in stunning style. The Hairy Bikers aka Dave Myers and Si King will then take to the stage and host the much anticipated MFDF Awards presentation.

Contenders for the acclaimed awards will discover if they have scooped such sought after titles as Restaurant of the Year, Bar of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Chef of the Year - which have been voted for by a panel of the city's industry professionals and YOU the food loving public! One Manchester food hero will also walk away with the special Outstanding Achievement Award. Presenting the accolades will be a selection of personalities, including leading expert on local and regional British food and the driving force behind Food Lovers Britain, Henrietta Green.
